Meet the Owner

Hello, it's nice to meet you! I’m Calysta Webb, the owner and creative force behind Berry Bay Smoothies, you can call me Caly. I’m a wife, a mom of two amazing kiddos, and an artist at heart. Before I opened Berry Bay, I spent years as a full-time professional photographer. I graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle with a degree in photography and business, which allowed me to combine my love for art and entrepreneurship.

While I was putting myself through college, I worked various coffee and waitressing jobs. Those experiences planted the seed for my future in the food and beverage industry, though I didn’t know it at the time.

In 2020, a short time after my husband’s job relocated our family to Oak Harbor, WA, I realized that driving over three hours to see my photography clients in Seattle just wasn’t sustainable anymore. With a strong interest in both business and art, I decided it was time for a change. Initially, I considered opening a coffee stand, but I wanted to create something more unique—something that would give me more room to express my creativity. That’s how Berry Bay Smoothies was born.

I named my company "Berry Bay" for a reason. "Berry" is a nod to my favorite fruit and the star of my signature gourmet smoothie, the Strawberry Shortcake. The word "Bay" is inspired by the beautiful Whidbey Island, WA, where I opened my first location.

Despite what some people think, Berry Bay isn’t a franchise. It’s a small business that I built from the ground up with $8,000 from my savings. Every recipe on our menu is something I dreamed up, and every product photo you see was taken by me. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m so grateful for the support from my family and friends and of course, the community.

Thank you for believing in me!
